Green Convene 2010 was a great success, thanks to our sponsors, supporters, and many volunteers. Most of all, we want to thank our attendees and presenters who graciously gave us their time and energy on Friday and Saturday to showcase what people in Louisville and beyond are doing to further a sustainable world for all of us.
Stay tuned for a multitude of pictures documenting the event! Our regular meeting schedule will resume in December, on the second Tuesday of each month. We'd love to see you there!
Elections for the 2010-2011 Green Convene Board of Directors took place on April 13, 2010; some previous directors were elected to a second year of service and we now have several new voices participating as well.
Please welcome our new Board!
The 2010-2011 Board of Directors are:
- Maria Koetter (Chair)
- Emily Sartini (Vice-Chair)
- Liz Darling Edmondson (Treasurer)
- Amy Lou Streible (Secretary)
- Aron Conaway (Director)
- Ben Evans (Director)
- Matthew Boone Gardiner (Director)
Follow either of the headings above to the Green Convene Winter'09
website with all the information about the results, who attended, who
sponsored, etc. It was an inspirational start to our campaign. Thank
you to all who participated.
"Tonight’s occupants are the volunteers of Green Convene, a coalition
whose aim is to organize Louisville’s many, disparate environmental
groups into a cohesive political force. In a way, they want to create
a green lobby that is to the mayor’s office what the Sierra Club, Nature
Conservancy, Greenpeace and the rest of the gang are to Congress. What
started as grumblings, then rumblings, then a manifesto, now appears
to be a bona fide coalition, complete with its own eponymous convention
— happening this weekend." (Read
