New Website Launched - June 23, 2009

Sorry for the long wait...

At last, we have updated our website to operate more effectively for our growing organization. The look has evolved a bit, and we have some new features on the way, like: more photos and videos representing the community, added policy information, a press room, a comprehensive calendar, etc. Be patient as we work out some kinks. But also let us know what else we can add to make the site better. Thanks, and we hope to see you soon. We would love to see you at our next community meeting.

Our Action Statement - March 12, 2009

Help us cover the Stimulus Plan

The Green Convene's Policy Committee is currently working on the Green Convene's recommendations for stimulus spending in Louisville. Check back for the Policy Committee's recommendations for Green Convene supporter action in the form of public comment opportunities, phone calls to your elected officials, etc. If you are interested in helping with this effort please let us know.

There is an urgent need to keep pace with the city and state government as details of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act develop. Let us know if you would like to help us by covering local meetings relating to stimulus spending. (Click here to send us an email)

The GC Winter'09 Forum was a resounding success on many levels.

Follow either of the headings above to the Green Convene Winter'09 website with all the information about the results, who attended, who sponsored, etc. It was an inspirational start to our campaign. Thank you to all who participated.

In a way, they want to create a green lobby that is to the mayor’s office what the Sierra Club, Nature Conservancy, Greenpeace and the rest of the gang are to Congress. What started as grumblings, then rumblings, then a manifesto, now appears to be a bona fide coalition, complete with its own eponymous convention — happening this weekend." (Read full article here!)
